Message: Hi there,
I want to paint a design on the back pockets of a pair of jeans and I want to achieve a solid, smooth finish and I was wondering what type of paint I should use. The after effect I wish to achieve is similar to this pattern .
thanks!

That looks like the effect you can get with "slick" fabric paint. You can buy this paint in most crafts stores and some fabric stores.

When you have used slick fabric paint on clothing, it's best to line-dry the clothing rather than machine drying it. I've found that the slick surfaces tend to stick together due to the heat of the dryer. We were able to peel the surfaces apart, though, so it was okay.

Actually, all fabric paint tends to wear rather badly in the laundry. Try to remember to always turn your painted clothing inside-out before washing. This reduces the amount of abrasion suffered by the painted surfaces.

Read the label to make sure whether the paint requires heat-setting with an iron. You'll want to follow the instructions closely.
