bleaching polyester

Name: Tricia
Message: I saw a dress on ebay that says it's made of polyester. It is pink, I'm not a big fan of pink and would like a white or off white color , could I bleach it or dye it and if so would that get pricey?

No, sorry. Bleach cannot be used to lighten the color of a dress made from a synthetic material such as polyester.

Dyeing can be used only to darken fabric, not lighten it. However, dyeing a polyester garment is impractical: see "Dyeing Polyester with Disperse Dyes ".
