If a clothing item is accidentally bleached with Clorox, is there any way to 'unbleach' it?Name: Donna Mager
Message: If a clothing item is accidentally bleached with Clorox, is there any way to 'unbleach' it? I understand you have a product that is called something like Mistake that does this, but I have been unable to find it. I can't imagine what product you are talking about; I do not sell such a thing, and, to be honest, it is chemically impossible. Once chlorine bleach has destroyed dye molecules, they cannot be reassembled. The way that Clorox works is by actually destroying organic molecules, such as dye (and in some cases the fiber itself). The only product that is likely to appear to undo its effects would be a fabric marker in the correct color. Please read the FAQs on my web site, including the very common one of "Help! I ruined clothing by spattering bleach. How can I fix it?". Posted: Thu - May 26, 2005 at 08:16 PM |
