The Synergy Ball
The Synergy Ball, shown at right (click on image for larger view), is an inexpensive paper model that combines the tension and compression elements of a tensegrity into each die-cut piece of card stock. The more complicated Tensegritoy uses strings for the tension and sticks for the compression elements. There are nice pictures of a variety of different tensegrity structures at Shelter Systems.
