Do you know how to achieve a faux leather finish for sweatshirt material?Name: Karen
Message: Do you know how to achieve a faux leather finish for sweatshirt material? I've seen it before, and would like to know how to do this myself. My idea of a faux leather finish on sweatshirt material would require a heavy application of some sort of plastic to get the slick smooth surface effect. I suspect that's not at all what you are thinking of, however. Try the instructions provided by PRO Chemical & Dye for "The Suede Look using PRO MX Reactive Dyes". It's actually not a texture at all, but the low water immersion technique of dyeing; this produces a mottled effect, which is said to mimic the texture of suede. Also see my much older page on low water immersion dyeing. (Please help support this web site. Thank you.) Posted: Sun - December 11, 2005 at 08:19 PM |
