Miami Dolphins color: any suggestions?

I have several orders for shirts done in Miami Dolphins colors. Of course, the Dolphins orange is no problem. It's the teal / blue-green color that is going to be an issue. I have tried several pre-mixed colors: Marine (Pro-Chem--too dark) and another color ordered from Dharma (the name escapes me now--not even close). In my book, this color is particularly hard to figure out at least for me. Many months ago I 'accidently' mixed the teal/blue-green Dolphins color. Of course, I did not write it down. Does anyone have any ideas? I appreciate all your help. Thanks!

Paula,
Thank you so much for your help. It is amazing how the Dolphin colors have changed over the years. I will try the Marine half-strength like you said as well as the blue / yellow mix. I also like the idea of the MX Jade. Thanks to you both. I'll let you know how it all pans out.

mixing a dark aqua for the Miami Dolphins

If your ProChem Marine is just too dark, what happens if you use less dye? Try half as much, or a quarter as much, per ounce of fabric, and see what you get.

It's interesting to see how wildly the colors of the Miami Dolphins logo have changed over the years, from green to navy to dark aqua:

The orange also has changed, from a dark red-orange to a bright medium orange.

The current dark aqua looks a bit duller than you'd get from a straight pure turquoise. It might be about right to mix a little yellow MX-8G with a larger amount of blue MX-R.

This picture of an official licensed jersey might give a better idea of a good aqua to use:

Try Olli Niemitalo's Dye Mixer Applet. There I get a similar hue when I mix cerulean blue (blue MX-G) with a slightly smaller amount of yellow MX-8G. Unfortunately, the Dye Mixer Applet cannot tell you how much dye to weight out to get an equivalent strength of color.

Miami Dolphins Aqua

This looks bluer than the Dolphins gear on the NFL website, doesn't it? If you want that greener shade like in past seasons, think about starting with (of all things) MX Jade.

If I were looking for that Aqua shade, I'd mix up 1/4 cup or less of each of Jade, Peacock and Bright Yellow and do some mixes. Of course, i probably could not recreaate it, except by looking.
