Iron Infused Boiled Silk Bundles

Hello all,

My name is Beth and I'm just new to dyeing. I started off only steaming my bundles but Monika from Red2White suggested boiling them after I saw her incredible pictures of raspberry leaves on cotton.

So I tried it out with both Flat Crepe and Silk Twill. I am so pleased with the results!

iron infused boiled silk bundles

They are very blue! What did you boil your bundles in?

I boiled some rusty iron bits

I boiled some rusty iron bits in the water for a couple hours, bundled the silk, added some frozen purple iris - maybe 1 and half flowers - and a whole bunch of dried oregano. They're not washed yet so I think the colour will definitely change after that.
